Many individuals argue that learing history is wasting time, meanwhile others think that it is necessary. Even it has several positive sides, I believe that learning the past is a waste of time.
The positive aspects of studying the past are numerous. Understanding your own culture and how it has developed over the centuries would be the first good side of it. The reason for this that you can know the traditions of yours, so that you are able to identify your responsibilities for your nation. Furthermore, by studying the history, it is possible to gain some percious information, such as traditional medicines, because previous people didn’t have medicines like now, instead they used plants to treat patients’ ilnesses. By this, new ways to cure ilnesses that are currently incurable can be found.
On the other hand, learning about the old days can have a number of negative aspects. A key one of them is unnecessary details about the before times. As a reason, there are too many figures and detailed information, which we don’t need in our daily life. As a result, we might lose the time, that we could use for other stuidies, like science, maths, engineering (STEM) subjects. Moreover, the history subject is rarely used in people’s lives, that is because of the modern technology spreading all around the world, which results in less usage of history.
In conclusion, I would say that even studying historical events can be advantageous in some unique ways, I agree with the idea that it is more wasteful, rather than being beneficial.
