There is an ongoing debate whether online learning is better than in-person education or not. Although e-learning might have some benefits, such as flexibility and easy access, I strongly believe that traditional classroom studying is more effective beacause it develops self-control and social skills.
On the one hand, education should be available and convenient for everyone and online classes show that it can be delivered to any location, also it can be adjustable: students can watch lectures any time, pause and rewatch them if needed. Furthermore, many sites for studying have different tasks, quick quizzes and flashcards, which may help to see the progress and work with mistakes. However, virtual learning does not require cooperation, team work, discipline or full concentration as traditional classroom learning does, and those features may be necessary.
On the other hand, face-to-face education creates stronger discipline and interaction with people. Teacher-led classes minimize procrastination by having a fixed schedule. Student may get distracted by phone or some noise while studying online at home but in classrooms teachers make sure that students are focused and engaged in the lesson. Moreover, in-person learning develops social skills by communication with classmates or teachers, team projects, presentations and discussions. Ability to deal with people is widely valud by employers and it is something that distance learning can not provide.
In conclusion, while studying online can be more convenient and attainable for some individuals, in my view, traditional education is superior since it provides communication skills and improves discipline.
