In the modern world, some people believe that the government should provide financial support for all kinds of artists such as painters, musicians and poets, However others argue that spending public money on art is unnessesary, instead it should be spend more important sectors. This assey will discuss for both views before presenting my own opinion.
One reason why governments should support artists is that supporting artists can benefit society in several ways. To be more specific, art plays an important role in preserving culture and national identity. For example, traditional music, historical paintings and literature can trully provide a country’s history and values. In additions, without any financial support many earlier and talented artist may srtuggle with improving their skills such as young musicians, painters and poets. They are not able to continue their work, especially in the early stages of their careers when their financial income is low. Moreover, art can promote tourism and a country’s international reputation. Famous museums, music festivals, and cultural events often attract visitor’s attraction and boost the economy.
On the other hand, other argue that the government funding for artists is unnecessary. Instead public money should allocate for vital sectors such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure.From this perspective, artists should earn money independently through selling their work or paintings, performing concerts, or publishing books. Furthermore, not all art benefits society equally, and it may be difficult for governments to decide which artists deserve financial support.
