In contemporary society, the economic depression has caused a panic around the world. Many people worry about the market perspect and argues that make more people study business than history can have a beneficial effect on society, While I disagree with that view, and believe that history is still an indispensible subject for society.
Frankly speaking, I admit that more people study business will have a positive effect on social economic growth, thereby enhancing economical stability of the whole society. With more well-educated employees working in the field of business, the market is more likely to experience a boom, as these businessmen may make the most of their advanced marketing techniques to stimulate economy. This will lead to a situation where there are more opportunities for people to earn a large amount of money and realize a econmic satisfaction, which greatly help society achieve economically stable.
However, such a merit seems minimized compared to the advantages in learning history. Primarily, maintain some people to study history can pass on the country’s cultural heritage and promote a peaceful society. If citizens all know the history and traditions of their country, it can help traditions to carry forward. Such traditions include sociel manner, morality as well as some good qualities. And individuals who uphold these qualities are more likely to lend a helping hand to others, which prompts a better atmosphere in society and enhances social cohesion. Furthermore, if more people have a better understanding of history, it will improve country’s international confidence. To be specific, when citizens gain an insight of their own cultures, they tend to endorse it and carry forward. Such a behavior will attract people to study their culture from all over the world. For example, the Confusious college has attracted millions of foriegners to learn Chinese traditions, which help China enhance ethnic confidence.
