Some believe that violent films and video games negatively influence individuals, while others argue that they are harmless source of stress relief. Although exposure to such content may affect a person’s behavior, it is acceptable if consumed responsibly.
On one hand, playing violent computer games and watching horror movies negatively affects people. This is because prolonged exposure to violence might affect person’s, especially a child’s mental health, making them more aggressive or emotionally unstable. For instance, research shows that kids who often play video games like Call of Duty or Grand Theft Auto (GTA) show higher level of aggressive behavior, compared to those who play non-violent games. Similarly, horror films filled with blood and fear might increase anxiety and cause sleep problems among young viewers.
On the other hand, many argue that violent movies and video games are simply harmless forms of entertainment. Despite their violent content, millions of people around the world who play such games or watch similar films show no signs of aggression in daily life. For example, popular games like Counter Strike or PUBG are played by countless individuals who use them as a good source of stress relief after a long day. As long as they are consumed responsibly and with proper age restrictions, such content should not be considered dangerous.
In conclusion, while it is true that violent movies and video games may have a negative impact on certain individuals, millions of others are unharmed. Therefore, I believe that such forms of entertainment can be a useful way to relieve stress and should not be banned.
