Over the past few decades, a fragment of society claims that travelers need to be in direct of the traditions and customs’s local community when they visit an unsimilar culture. I am personally in support of this view, and I will explain why in this essay.
Firstly, when one arrives at a new region it is going to be a new place for him. Hence, by adapting himself with the customs and traditions of that region one can make his trip memorable. One will be able to understand the lifestyle of local people in addition, one will find easiness in making them friends. Moreover, it will give him opportunity to celebrate the local practices and traditions. According to a survey, 80% of the local people want those kinds of outsider at their place who is willing to learn about their way of living.
Secondly, by getting familiar with conditions of a new place one will treat that place as his home and local ones as his family. One will not do any wrong during any festival. By getting used to with the traditions and practices of a region one will eliminate the possibility of offending locals sentiments. Many travelers have mentioned in their interviews, how they form of great bond of friendship with the people of different region just by showing respect and learning their culture and rituals
In conclusion, while there are people who finds it difficult to adapt the traditions and culture of a new place,these must be weighted against the cultural and practices benefits provides. Personally, I feel that these benefits outweigh the drawbacks.
