In recent years, it has often been argued that university education should be free. I completely agree with this viewpoint, and this essay will explain why.
Firstly, many students suffer from a lack of money to get a quality education. In addition, not every parent can provide for their children’s prospects, especially parents who have many children. For instance, my uncle has two sons and three daughters who wanted university admission. He could not support his children financially when his two sons entered university. As a result, my uncle’s two daughters are uneducated.
Secondly, free university education could comprehensively improve a country’s economy, health care, education, and other areas. This is because, if university education were free, gifted teenagers would study their subjects well. As a result, they could become highly skilled professionals in their communities and find jobs. For example, Singapore gave many students opportunities to get a quality education in 2007. In the next 5 years, Singapore’s economy improved significantly. So, Singapore has one of the highest rates of urbanization in the world today.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that university education should be free. Although the government may suffer a financial loss from free university education in the short term, it can achieve great success later on.
