Recently, some people think that studying chosen occupation by students in high school because of the disadvantages while there are many developmental trials before. However, I totally agree to study student-chosen occupation.
Firstly, the regular subjects in high schools are too focused to make students just go to university. For instance, when I was in a high school, I studied general biology which is provided as lecture in department of the biology in the university. It was interesting, but too difficult to me. Besides, high school teachers did not know why they are teaching that subject now.
Secondly, one of the major purposes of high school is to make students to find what they like. If they provide lectures that are not interested to students, they will have less studying efficiency and make negative emotions to them. For example, in my high school, the Japanese is the essential subjects for all students. During the class, most of the students were not giving attention to Japanese teacher. High school do not need to make students to take the subject that students do not want to.
Lastly, the opportunity of having student-chosen occupation for students can be the good method to develop the freedom and responsibility of students. In my case, I was so stressed when I had an enrollment of university and started to make my own class schedule. Compared to high school schedule, it was so free to me, and I did not know anything what I should do. If I have similar experiences before, I think I could deal with this problem more easily.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that the giving the opportunity of student-chosen occupation to students can be regarded as the wonderful trial to increase and develop the studying efficiency.
