When it comes to government spending, opinions differ on whether infrastructure (transport and housing) or services such as education, health, and human resources are more important. Personally, i believe that spending towards education, health, and HR values are more beneficial for a nation as they play a crucial role on the development of a nation.
On the one hand, some argue that infrastructure is essential because it supports economic growth and development. Investments in roads, railways, and housing can improve accessibility, connect regions, and can play a role of a magnet for foreigners. For example, better transportation system reduce travel time and boost productivity, while affordable housing can improve living conditions and reduce poverty rate among citizens. In addition, when a government prioritizes infrastructure, it creates a foundation for long-term economic development, which can benefit the whole society. For instance, spending on the infrastructure can be a long lasting benefit for both economy and a reputation of a nation.
On the other hand, many believe that education, health, and human resources are more important for the well-being of a nation. A well-educated and healthy population is fundament for achieving a growth in all of the fields. Education offers opportunities for people to improve their skills and knowledge, preparing them to contribute to the workforce and benefit to the growth of a country. Moreover, health services ensure a productive workforce and improve overall life quality, while investments in human resources help to build skilled professionals which will eventually play a major role on the development of a country. Additionally, the statistics show that the most of the highly developed countries such as Russia, China, USA, and Germany are spending billions on the fields like education, health, and human resources. These areas hugely impact daily lives of citizens and create a more satisfied and a happy society.
In my opinion, while infrastructure is crucial, investing bigger amounts on education, health, and human resource is an ideal way as a healthy and educated citizens can guarantee on the successful future of a country. Therefore, governments should aim to allocate resources towards essential services, ensuring well-rounded and developed nation.
