A significant amount of time and money has been allocated to the space exploration by many nations, while little investment is being channeling into other issues on Earth. While I agree that this might be the case in some disciplines of science, I do not deem investing money on researching other planets domains useful/ I do not consider investing in the exploration of other planets to be useful.
Admittedly, extraterrestrial investigation offers substantial benefits one of which is technological advancements and innovation. Unlike in the past, when it was much more challenging for doctors to diagnose health conditions, it is now common to see medical professionals using modern technology to treat patients, leading to significant improvements in global healthcare, leading to significant improvements in global healthcare. MRI is one of the striking examples in this case, which is why halting space programs could slow down scientific progress that benefits humanity. Additionally, overpopulation has been on the rise in recent years, resulting in a shortage of living space. if space researches are carried out by countries in collaboration, they are likely to colonize other planets, providing an alternative habitat for future generations.
That said, I would argue that there are many pressing issues that require substantial financial investment. It should be acknowledged that space exploration requires billions of dollars, which could be spent on other important areas, such as health care and education, more importantly, poverty reduction. Not only does it help individuals have access to better treatment with modern methods of treating, but younger segment of society will be able to get a quality education, which is sure to lead to promising future. More importantly, poverty remains a significant issue that could be alleviated by establishing textile industries and small factories, providing employment opportunities in rural areas. Moreover, regardless of benefits of space exploration whose direct impact on daily life is minimal, investing into clean water, which can otherwise pose some potential risks to people’s health conditions and employment programs provide immediate benefits to society at large.
In conclusion, while some believe that space exploration contributes to technological and medical advancements, making life easier, I believe that governments should take precedence addressing urgent issues on Earth through immediate actions over investing in space exploration.
