In recent years, undergraduates find it easy to approach information on the Internet and online platforms, therefore, libraries are no longer essential for them. There are several reasons behind this phenomenon and I strongly disagree with this situation.
There are some reasons why libraries should exist longer, be built in many schools. First of all, although students can access the Internet quickly, the libraries are the best place to find accurate information. Online websites or social platforms have a lot of information which can be unsuitable for expectation and even inaccurate for finding. Consequently, it can waste much time to approach and students can face to damaging, incorrect information. Secondly, libraries are places which can help students easily concentrate on studying or seeking books because of quietness. If students cannot understand lessons or have difficulty in finding, they can ask for help to librarians and discuss the studying topics with their friends
The Internet is a virtual platform, which is controlled by many strangers or hackers, so information in this can be unreliable. For instance, wikipedia is a website in which many people can change the information. As a result, some genuine information will become incorrect and result in student’s studying. Secondly, students often cannot meet their expectations because of paid websites. They have to pay money to download information, which is unsuitable for students.
In conclusion, because of several drawbacks of accessing information online, libraries also play a crucial role for students and can longer appear in schools. I firmly believe that students should spend time going to libraries to find knowledge, books and easily study in quiet places, or discuss with friends.
