Working or not is a controversial topic of almost all time. It is believed that if a certain number of people were allowed to opt to be unemployed or work for hours, the choice would be the former. I strongly disagree with this view because employment can be a good source of stable income and a great place for social connections.
To begin with, working in a certain place ensures people’s financial security. Once individuals have decent jobs that provide them with a steady salary, they do not have to be concerned about how to meet their basic needs such as housing, food, education, and so forth because they can support themselves and their families. In other words, being unemployed may threaten people’s lives both financially and mentally since they almost all the time have to bear in mind how to cover their essential expenses for a living or frequently look for financial help from others which might increase their stress levels and eventually these permanent worries may ruin their life.
In addition, workplaces are one of the best places where people can build connections and relationships. Most of the time, employed people have more chances to meet new people rather the ones sitting at home, so it is easy for them to better their communication skills as well as to build supportive networks. One of the obvious examples of this can be colleagues, they often become friends, and these social bonds enhance the quality of life. Therefore, if one is eager to form better social circles, working could be one of the perfect solutions for this.
In conclusion, although there are some stereotypes about the people who choose to unemployed while having a chance to work too, I think that it is not a good idea since people’s life can be effected negatively by making them lag behind socially and financially.
