Some people think that it is important to allow children the chance to make their own decisions from an early age. I strongly agree with this statement because it will develop their determination and teach them how to make right or wrong decisions in the future.
Firstly, an increasing number of parents make decisions themselves for their children and often do not give them a chance to choose something. If adults continue to restrict their children, they will not act independently when they grow up. In other words, they will not know what they want and will rely on their parents to make decisions for them. For instance, parents can only give a piece of advice, and children will follow their advice when they cannot make a decision. If they learn it since childhood, it will be much easier to understand right or wrong things in their future life.
Secondly, if children learn and understand their own preferences since childhood, it will be easier to choose right or wrong things in future life. All human beings need to make decisions every day; it is a part of our life. For example, who they want to call a friend or build a relationship with, what type of music they enjoy listening to, or what kind of style they want to wear. It is not significant whether the decisions people make are right or wrong; it is important how they understand them and learn from their mistakes. When children grow, they choose more serious things such as an occupation or getting into university. As a result, they might be afraid to make a wrong decision or follow others, not knowing what they want in advance.
In conclusion, although parents have more experience and wish their children all the best, it is important to give them freedom as they will be more resolute and gain experience from their own solutions.
