There have been a debatable issue in our society pertaining to the invention of a new language that would be understandable for all people over the world. Some consider that there are some benefits behind this tendency while others are sceptical about it and they contemplate that it has more cons than pros. I am in complete agreement with the latter viewpoint and in the forthcoming paragraphs of this essay I shall explain my position.
First and foremost thing is that there are some benefits and firstly it can be stated that foundation of new speech will be a great deal at some spheres like business. It is evident for everyone that some businessmen were not smart students at school and couldn’t do their best at learning languages. In that case it would be easy for those to communicate in a single language than learning a list of dialects. Moreover, in the field of diplomacy there also can be some conveniences behind this trend. In spite of studying an amount of languages future ambassadors will be taught single language that is understandable for everyone. This of course saves one’s time and the brain will be busy with other skills that are more vital for consoles. One good example can be that it will be easy to understand each other at conferences or important meetings if everybody gives high impact on an eligible language.
While there are noticeable advantages like one mentioned above, there are also inevitable disadvantages that should be advocated and the most detrimental aspect of being monolingual affects badly to all language types globally. Firstly, it leads to depiction of wide range of minor languages like Armenian Indo European and Caucasian which are almost in danger of dying. This tendency leads to youngsters not being educated to their native language for time saving. Instead the global language attracts their attention which seems more profitable to use. Besides it can be also acknowledged that if monolingualism is implemented every government will desire that its dialect should be the main and this may lead to misunderstanding amongst countries that may have the worst results in the end. For example, giant authorities like China, America and Russia may have an idea to set their native tongue as the main in order to gain more importance in the global sphere which then may lead unforeseen issues for all human being.
In conclusion there some beneficial points of constituting a monolingual system for the international benefits, however, as every coin has two sides, there are more obvious disadvantages of this, such as loosing a lot of languages in minority and leading to misunderstanding among major countries. These completely outweigh its pros.
