Some people believe that making parents attend to parenting courses annually is the best way to building a happy family life for children. While I argue that this proposal is productive to some extent, some other measures should be taken into consideration as well.
On the one hand, these courses might be helpful for parents to broaden their knowledges about parenting skills. Having understand more about how to educate and communicate with their children in the most effective way, they can support their children with their best effort. However, the forcing may have the opposite effects. Adequate parents may feel this unnecessary and even insulting. In certain cultures, this level of government intervention might be seen as an invasion of privacy. Therefore, rather than creating a positive impact, such a policy might lead to resentment and resistance from parents.
On the other hand, I believe that a happy family life for children is caused by many factors, not only parents education skills. For example, the children’s personalities, family financial and parents’ quality time for their children are really important too. Even parents with well-required knowledges can’t support their children if they lack of time for their family. Emotion bonds, trust and mutual understanding between family members, which are showed in numerous researches, admitted its important for building a happy family life for children.
In conclusion, while people might think that make mothers and fathers take part in parenting courses every year is the best way to ensure a happy family life for children, I argue that forcing them to participate in these programs can have opposite effects; otherwise, parents’ time and sympathy are also importance factors too.
