From my personal standpoint, I totally disagree with this opinion and this essay will elaborate on arguments to elucidate my stance.
Proponents of this point of view insist that by increasing fuel costs might prompt vehicles owners to search for more sustainable alternatives; however, they do not take into account the potential setbacks stemming from this approach. Firstly, the escalation of gasoline prices will impact negatively on people’s lives. This is primarily because of the fact that nowadays, a significant number of individuals rely on petroleum vehicles to travel; thereby, raising fuel expenses will limit car usage among citizens especially those at lower socioeconomic level, catalyzing considerable inconvenience and unwanted outcomes.
Furthermore, it is crucial to acknowledge the economic issues may arise. First and foremost, inflation might be exaggerated. The rising cost of fuels definitely results in more expensive transportation, boosting the overall prices of numerous products. This, in turns, lead to a situation where many people struggle to purchase essential items, directly decreasing their living standard. Additionally, this development will also cause economic stagnation since the vital process of transportation is curbed due to over prices, which will exert substantial burden on the economy.
To sum up everything that has been stated so far, it is my firm belief that increasing the prices of vehicles’ fuel is not a viable method to mitigate environmental pollutions because of the significant drawbacks it carries.
