The maps illustrate the changes in a particular area between 1980 and 2000 following the construction of a hydroelectric power dam.
Overall, the most noticeable change is that a large lake was created after the dam was built, which significantly transformed the natural landscape. As a result, several features such as farmland, forest, and ancient structures disappeared, while new elements like a hotel and fishing area were introduced.
In 1980, the area was mainly a natural and agricultural center. A river ran through the center from north to south. On the western side, there was a forest and plant area containing rare plants and animals. In the north side were ancient structures and mountains. On the south side of the river, there were located farmlands and a village.
On the east side, the river, there were irrigated farmlands and a village from 1980, which transformed into a large lake covering most of the central area. Additionally, a hotel was consructed of the east the side of the area and central areas near fishing facilities.
