The map above illustrates the floor plan of the Central Library from 20 years ago to today. Many years have passed, the layout has changed compared to the past.
There was a corner specialized for CDs, videos, computer games, but it has changed to a multifunctional zone, which can be used for storytelling events. Also at the same place, you can find children’s fiction books, but back then, you could find children’s books from the area across the multifunctional zone. Tables and chairs were located near the entrance as well.
Contrastingly, the latest design of the Central Library has been modernized. They originally used an enquiry desk for the visitors yet they have upgraded it to a self-service machine along with an information desk and reconstructed the enquiry desk to a café. The library has been established in a modern approach by adding a lecture room, categorising the books, and reinventing the reading room to a computer room. It is evident that technology holds a big role, as some of the conventional areas have been made into a technology-based corner.
