Some people hold the opinion that fertilizers and advanced machinery have increased food production, leading to adverse effects on human health and community. From my point of view, I firmly disagree with this perspective, since this occurrence provides more convenience to individuals and is applicable in most cases.
The opponents advocate that this kind of food production may be harmful to human health. First of all, when people constantly consume those foods cultivated by numerous fertilizers, they will suffer from different kinds of diseases and damage their organs. For instance, consuming foods which contain excessive fertilizers might increase the opportunities of getting cancer, as there are diverse chemicals that affect cells from the human body. Furthermore, using better machinery to produce foods may demolish the structure of the foods, leading to the nutritions leaving away from the foods. As a consequence, individuals who eat those foods in the long term will lose the needed nutritions and cause diseases. which in term, increases patients in the society.
However, there is no consensus that people consuming those foods will impact human health and community. Firstly, although the technology of producing food is consistently upgraded, including fertilizers and machines, people’s lifespan is increasing compared to the past at the same time. For example, the average lifespan of Chinese people has risen to around twenty years. Therefore, this advancement in food production improves human health. Secondly, the upgraded technique of manufacture makes individuals and communities better. It raises the numbers of producing foods For instance, better medicines added into farms to prevent bugs and diseases, leading to vegetables growing well. Consequently, more foods successfully grow, resulting in decreasing food prices. In term, deprived regions get sufficient food to maintain their life.
To summarize, despite that fertilizers contain more chemicals and better machinery damages food structure, there is no evidence that the two factors have a negative impact on human health and community. In contrast, these approaches improve lifespan of individuals and societies.
