Promotion plays a huge role in encouraging unnecessary product consumption. Thus, it is commonly believed that some exaggerated marketing and advertising frequently result in individuals spending money on extravagant items instead of buying important things. This essay will discuss why I completely agree with this viewpoint.
There is no doubt that people could be affected by particular product promotion. Specifically, there are some unavoidable advertisements that often appear while surfing on the internet or just watching TV; and this kind of marketing, which leads people to think about inessential items, has become very popular in the modern era. For example, people should watch the promotional videos before accessing certain apps or websites, whether they want or not. Consequently, the products, which are displayed to individuals quite regularly, make people willing for buying them, even though they may have never thought about them.
Another reason for buying unneeded items is extra emotional and interesting advertisements. Furthermore, some companies use various expressions or tones- such as surprise or relaxation-when buyers use the products; which can attract customers. From my own experience, I sometimes make poor decisions when choosing a restaurant or meal, especially when I am starving; at that time, I just select the best appealing option without considering other factors. This shows how easily people can be persuaded consumers by marketing to purchase unnecessary products.
In conclusion, exaggerated and inescapable marketing strategies have a significant impact on costumers decision. As a result, there may be an increase in sales of goods that are less important for buyers. In my opinion, advertisements should be manageable by people rather than making them compulsory.
