The below line graph depict the production level of the main fuels into energy units in the UK between the year 1981 and 2000.

Overall, the highest production level of the main fuels was petroleum and Natural gas which showed a steady but significantly rise over the period. While, the energy units of production level of coal experienced a declined trend.

In 1981 the production level of petroleum and natural gas were around 40 and 140 energy units respectively. Petroleum rates slightly decrease upto 100 energy units in the year 1991. Whereas, the natural gas were steady at 40 energy units in 1991. In the meantime, there was a sudden rose significantly at 80 and 140 energy units.

In the early 1981 the production level of coal remains steady at 80 energy units was lowest among these three sources in UK. However, it dramatically declined to 40 energy units in 1986. Then, there was a merely growth upto 60 units in 1991, but coal production level was declined upto 35 energy units around the year 2000.
