Nowadays, the importance given to women and the place of women in society has changed significantly, but people still do not think that there is gender equality in societies. In my perspective, women have more rights and importance today, but equality between men and women has not been fully achieved. This issue is a subject that is discussed a lot among people.
On the one hand, although women are now given a lot of space in the business world, in countries such as Afghanistan and India, women receive less salary even though they do the same job as men. In addition, women have more difficulty reaching senior management positions than men because there are more expectations from women. In addition, females both work at work and then do housework when they return home in the evening, and if they have children, they take care of them, which causes them to carry double responsibilities and burdens.
On the other hand, in education and laws, women have the same educational opportunities and the same legal rights as men. In fact, in many countries, women’s education rate is higher than men’s. For example, according to a study conducted in 2020, the employment rate of women in the UK has surpassed that of men. Moreover, women are now involved in every profession, and women are now working in many professions such as engineering, police and military, taxi drivers, where only men used to work.
In conclusion, In the last fifty years, the place of women in society and business life has increased. Although gender equality could not be fully achieved in some issues such as salary difference, double burden and responsibility, equality between men and women in education and laws could be achieved.
