It is often said that the housing shortage in large cities can lead to serious consequences, and it can only be solved by the government. I totally disagree with this statement, as residents of the country and companies can also play a part in addressing this problem.
On the one hand, individuals can move to the countryside to help decrease the housing shortage. This mainly happens in cities because there are plenty of job opportunities, attracting people to urban areas and leading to a housing crisis. For example, in Japan, many people from rural areas move to cities, causing a lack of housing and creating an imbalance between rural and urban areas. However, if half of these people were to move back to the countryside, this issue could be effectively resolved.
On the other hand, it can be argued that businesses can provide accommodation for their employees to help address the limited housing availability. For instance, large corporations could invest in building worker housing near their offices or work sites, which would not only reduce the housing demand in crowded cities but also lower commuting times for their staff members. As a result, this approach could benefit the company in the long run and alleviate the consequences of limited housing, ensuring that employees have a place to live.
In conclusion, insufficient housing can cause several significant issues for society. I completely disagree with the notion that only the government can take action, as individuals and businesses can also play a key role in addressing this problem, such as by moving to the countryside and providing accommodation for employees.
