It is believed that banning all forms of advertising would be beneficial to society because of their useless purpose and even damaging effects. This essay will elaborate on both sides of view before reaching my ultimate opinion.
On the one hand, it is notorious that banning advertising may bring several benefits to people’s lives. Indeed, advertising accounts for not a small amount of money which they have to allocate in almost every company. The more customers the advertising can catch, the more money the company spends as famous celebrities are invited to participate in their campaign. These costs make the price of products become more expensive that is the amount the money their customers have to pay when they buy a product. Moreover, to create effective competition, some advertising tends to exaggerate the function or value of a product which targets the consumer’s mentality and manipulates them for uninformed decisions when deciding to buy something.
On the other hand, banning advertising can be associated with some potential risks to the community. To be more specific, customers will not know the latest version and the full information of a product. They can face/confront some obstacles when comparing the same kind of production in different brands. As the unknown products, customers can deduct their demand for purchasing goods, which may lessen the development of the economy. Besides, the workforce in advertising fields can become unemployed leading to an increased unemployment rate.
In conclusion, banning advertising can yield the benefit of useless purpose but it can create a reverse effect on our society.
