The table conveys data about primary purposes of water usage in such countries as Canada, the UK, China, Australia, India and Japan in 2003.
Looking from an overall perspective, it is evident that there are three main goals of using the water, which are domestic purposes, industrial and agricultural.
With regards to the most common purpose, agricultural water usage appeared to be the dominant for 4 countries, which are the UK, China, India and Japan, in 2003. Furthermore, Britain was the country where water was used in the agricultural realm the most, as it was the purpose of 90% water usage. In Australia and Canada, meanwhile, the most frequent one was the domestic purpose, as 63% and 65% of water in these countries was used for domesticity.
Turning to the less common, yet still primary purposes, the usage of water in the industry showed the lowest indexes in the UK, Australia, India and Japan, accounting for 5%, 2%,8% and 15%, relatively. At the same time, the industrial water usage in Canada indicated 32% and rated the second most frequent water usage purpose after the usage in domestic goals.
