The line graph illustrates the stores figures that were opened and closed in a particular nation over a seven-year period.
Overall, we can see that the graph shows fluctuations over the period surveyed. However, at the beginning, the number of shops openings were higher than the closures ones. In contrast, by the end of the period in 2018 the number of opening closures were surpassed in comparison to the opening one. Moreover, the lowest numbers were in 2012 and 2015 for both lines.
When looking at the outset, in 2011, it is salient to note that the opened shops were higher than the closed ones, at approximately 8500 and 6500 respectively. However, the number of opened shops fell dramatically in 2015 to reach the lowest point, at 4000 . Whereas the amount of closed markets increased gradually to reach the maximum in 2013, at just above 7000.
With regards to the rest of the period given, from 2014 to 2018, it is evident that there was a fluctuation. In 2014 the both numbers of shops were very similar, at around 6100. Following that we can see that there was a drop with noticing that the number of the opening shops was higher in 2015, at 4000 than the closures than 1000. From 2016 to 2018, the quantity of closed stores remained consistent, at 5000 compared to the opened ones which went down in 2018 to reach its lowest point, at 3000.
