Band 5+: The values we gain from our parents and family have more influence over our future success than the skills and knowledge learned in school

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Nowadays, people believe that a parent’s education can have a greater effect on children than a college education. They believe that the values of the school are not important. I disagree with this idea.

First, parents are not perfect. They could guide kids to gain knowledge, but the school’s teaching theory can help students study things directly. Not only to study skills but also to socialize in an environment children don’t know. These can make children out of the protection of their parents and develop minting quickly. The research in Japan shows that children can learn more without parents, which proves that the family’s guide is not better than the school teaching theory.

Secondly, students are spending more time at school than at home now. This means the school environment could have a more valuable impact on the student. Also, with the development of the education system, students can choose different subjects, which shows that school can provide more benefits than family education. The school’s goal is for children to achieve their dreams; it is not about the family’s expectation of a successful job.

All in all, schools are suitable for children’s personal growth, with the improvement of education. School is better than family education because schools have more experience with a fully developed system to give the children a view of future success.
