Some of the causes that lead to the manifestation of this problem will be evaluated before proposing some applicable and effective measures that could be used to tackle the scarcity of natural resources caused by exploitation
To begin with, it is evident that over-consumption of natural resources can be attributed to some main reasons. Firstly, overpopulation can substantially contribute to the consumption of natural resources at an all-time high rate. To illustrate, The global population is constantly escalating around the world. Therefore , human’s activities in a majority of industries are closely associated with the utilization of natural resources due to their indisputable significance. For instance, in order to meet people’s commuting requirements in everyday life, an excessive amount of petrol and oil exploited from nature is utilized. Another reason behind this phenomenon is the illegal consumption of these sources. For instance, nowadays, many poachers exploit forest products due to their high commercial/trading value without any permission from the relevant authority. Unfortunately, these culprits can hardly be arrested due to the lack of the constant supervision from rangers, which in turn results in the rise in natural consumption in many parts of the world and contributes to the depletion of natural resources
Due to the fact that these resources are finite, some measures should be taken to address this issue. Firstly, we should lower our dependence towards natural resources by taking advantage of renewable sources. For example, almost all households in developed nations around the world have equipped solar panels to generate electricity from sun power instead of using nonrenewable resources. This approach should be widely applied in the remaining parts of the world. Secondly, governments should implement essential policies that can prevent the scarcity of natural resources in the future. To be specific, raising citizens’ awareness on how to use natural resources in an economical way and severely punishing those using them wastefully are the primary actions that can be taken initially because it can lay a solid foundation for any further intentions from the governments to be carried out.
