Band 9: There days internet-based course have become a popular alternative to university-based courses. Some students prefer this type of learning because they do not need to attend lectures. Other argue that is important to study in university. Discuss both these views and give my opinion.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Students have different opinions on the type of course they prefer. While some believe that internet-based courses are convenient because they do not need to attend lectures, I side with those who feel university-based courses are crucial.

On the one hand, it could be argued that internet-based courses are comparatively more time-efficient than university-based courses, as they often have shorter study durations. Moreover, students can avoid the time-consuming commute to campus, which allows them to use that time more productively for study or other activities. For example, a student who saves two hours of commuting each day can dedicate that time to working on assignments or engaging in additional learning activities. Additionally, the flexibility of online courses means that even if a student misses a live class, they can easily catch up by watching recorded lectures on the platform.

On the other hand, I agree with those who believe that studying at a university is important since it has several benefits that contribute to a comprehensive educational experience. Firstly, face-to-face interaction with professors and other students makes learning more interesting and allows for immediate feedback. Secondly, the university provides access to many facilities, resources, and extracurricular activities that help students with both their studies and personal development. Building a strong network at the university can help students even after they graduate, as it provides valuable connections for their future careers.

To conclude, while internet-based courses offer greater time efficiency, I hold the view that the advantages of university-based courses are more significant.
