Nowadays, an increasing number of people are concerned about the fact that the Internet has become an important part of modern society. While I accept that the Internet bring many advantages to human life, I would argue that it is not the most important invention in history.
On the one hand, it can be argued that there are two clear benefits that the Internet bring to people’s lives. The first advantage is that it helps people communicate more easier with others around the world at any time, anywhere. For example, people can send email, make video call, and share pictures or messages with friends and family in just a few seconds. Additionally, the Internet helps people study and work more effective and convenient. For example, students can take online lessons and find information for their homework, while office workers can complete their tasks at home by using computers and online tools.
On the other hand, I am of the opinion that the importance of older inventions like the wheel must not be underestimated. Firstly, the wheel made transportation faster and easier for humans in ancient time. As a result, it allowed people to move heavy goods, travel long distance, and develop trade between different areas. Secondly, many modern inventions are based on the wheel, such as cars, bicycles, and machines. Without the wheel, people could not create modern technology or build the transportation system that we use every day.
In conclusion, although I acknowledge that the Internet has improved human life in many ways, I would contend that older inventions like the wheel are more important for human development. A balance should be struck between two to achieve the best outcome.
