It is believed by a few individuals that in this modern era, youngsters are pressurised to become successful in their studies and due to that non-essential classes, such as sport and cooking should be removed from the school time-table so student can focus on their studies. I completely disagree with this statement as removing these subjects will have an adverse impact on student’s physical strength and student cannot learn other skills, which can be important to live independently.
It is undeniable that in physical education plays a vital role in school goers life because it helps them to develop a good appearance as doing exercise involves some kind of stretching exercises and yoga. Furthermore, playing sports not only give the refreshment to the learners from their hectic academic schedule but also it helps them to learn some life essential skills, such as leadership, team management, communication, decison making and many more as some of the sports requires students to be in a group or taking the right decision to win the tournament. To illustrate better, as per the report published by WHO reveals that students who do physical activities have a good life essential skills and a good strength. Therefore, it is not a wise idea to say that extra curriculm activities are not essential for students.
Moreover, it is a fact that learning some other skills. such as cooking, swimming, singing etc. keep students motivated and help them to find their interest out of their academics because while getting these classes at the learning institutes, students can recognise the skills, in which they are good at and they can practice to develop it further as these industries like cooking and swimming also contains a big opportunities to grow and build a successful life. For example, as per the survey conducted by the students of Harvard University disclose that students who are forced to focus only on their studies are not able to find the field of their interest and because of that there may be a chance that they cannot be successful in either of the field. Thus, it is not a good idea to make students focus only on their studies instead of some other essential skills.
To conclude, it is non negotiable that students should not be forced to get the success only in the field of their studies. I believe that, students can have a successful career in the subjects, which are not the part of their studies and they can live an independent life by learning some out of the syllabus skills.
