Rural depopulation is one of the most pressing issues for authorities, who try
to mitigate this phenomenon by enhancing some facilities. In this essay, I
intend to examine the consequences of this problem and propose some
solutions.
It is evident that the lack of advanced facilities leads to more and more
depopulation of rural areas. This has a negative impact mainly on urban
areas. For instance, when population increases, the demand for services also
rises. On the other hand, population growth causes environmental problems
for air, water and soil. The government must first address the root causes of
rural depopulation. People in rural areas face significant challenges such as
obsolete equipment that they cannot afford to buy or maintain. Traveling to the
city for administrative matters is very inconvenient and people prefer to live in
the city anyway. As the population of an area increases, so do the daily
needs. Rural people are the biggest food suppliers for city dwellers with
animal husbandry and planting and harvesting crops. Certainly, when people
leave their jobs by moving, it can lead to serious problems in food supply. The
government should consider more advanced tools and allocate an appropriate
budget for rural jobs so that people do not have to move to urban areas due to
the difficulty of work and lack of facilities.
Secondly, building some facilities such as shopping malls, sports complexes
and institutes can improve the quality of life in rural areas, but this requires
long-term investment and high costs. Developing these areas can make them
more attractive and reduce the number of people who relocate. People in rural
areas have a limited range of job opportunities and they are not very
profitable, but they require more effort.
In conclusion, the problem of rural depopulation is unlikely to be solved easily.
However, it is not impossible if we employ crisis management specialists.
