Nowadays, many people decide to migrate from the residence where they were born and grew-up. This movement of people has both its benefits and consequences. However, in my opinion, the positive impacts of migration outweigh the consequences.
Due to the lack of employment and economic opportunities in certain areas, especially in the countryside people choose to move-out of the place where they originally reside. They tend to look for jobs which pay more and have better compensation. These jobs are mostly found in large cities or the metropolis. Although I have not personally experienced this since I was born in a region with many opportunities, I have relatives who were from the countryside and migrated in the City to find better employment opportunities.
Another reason people migrate is because of the limited welfare services in far-flung areas. These services may include advanced medical intervention or tertiary education. For instance, advanced medicine such as chemotherapy may only be accessed in large cities. There are some families or individuals who may need to undergo this therapy on a regular basis, thus they decide to migrate to a place where it can be more accessible.
Many people nowadays see education as a significant factor to have a better life in the future. Lack of tertiary education in some areas may also be attributed as a push factor of migration. To illustrate, some of my classmates in college were from the other regions of the country.
While migration may have disadvantages such as congestion of people in the metropolis, pollution, etc. it is being outweighed by its advantages such as economic stability, and access to health and quality education.
