In a world where the population has surged, it has become increasingly common for individuals to live in small houses that cannot provide outdoor spaces, particularly in urban areas. While this situation may yield some advantages, such as lower housing costs and a convenient location, I believe it does more harm than good in terms of increased health problems and reduced social interactions.
Proponents of living in compact homes without green outdoor areas cite various reasons to support their stance. One of them is lower housing costs. This is because, unlike homes that include outdoor spaces, such compact ones without green spaces would be more affordable for people to purchase or rent. This can ultimately help people save their money, thereby strengthening their financial stability. This is especially beneficial for low-income families or students living in homes without open-air spaces can make a big difference. Moreover, living in tiny houses without outdoor areas can provide people with a convenient location, as such homes are often situated in commercial areas that are surrounded by recreational facilities, including shops, restaurants, cafes, and parks.
Nonetheless, in my view, the drawbacks of living in homes without outdoor areas are significant. The primary downside of living in such homes is that they can cause health problems. When people live in homes without green open-air spaces, they are likely to suffer from physical and psychological health problems, such as obesity and anxiety, as people are unable to engage in exercises and mental relaxation techniques. Another disadvantage of living in homes that do not have outdoor areas is less social interaction, since residents do not have the opportunity to connect with their friends and family members through organizing gatherings in open spaces.
In conclusion, although residing in homes that can not provide open-air spaces brings some benefits, including lower housing costs and a convenient location, I believe living in such places presents significant drawbacks for people regarding health problems and less social interaction.
