In recent years, there has been an ongoing debate about whether health insurance should be allow to give extra charges on different categories of medicine based on an individual’s genetic or not. Some people may think that this is impractical since it differ a certain person with another. In this essay, i will discuss both perspectives and state my opinion.
on the one hand, health companies are built to provide basic necessities especially in health which is essential for each individual to sustain their life. However, no companies would want to suffer loss because they invest a considerable amount of cash to the company. for instance, when a patient endure severe illnesses and need extensive medications the health insurance have to contribute paying for the hospital bill though the patient only paid a minimum amount of charge for the past few months.
On the other hand, differing each people based on their genetic predispositions may also seems unethical. In which they would add additional payment for those who are likely to have deadly diseases and need a long-term treatment such as cancer, stroke and diabetes. Moreover, people often invest on insurance so they could cover up additional expenses that may came and this are often did to help those who are suffering from poverty or those who struggle in economy. Nevetheless, the health insurance are a business after all and they built it to receive incomes and just like any other companies that has their own way to promote their services.
In conclusion, i believe that both views have their own merits. However, i personally agree that business are a way for people to be capable to sustain their life and not a charity work.
