I completely agree with the statement that people are becoming more disconnected from the real world. We can see a vast change in our daily lives due to technology; even simple tasks like writing an email are done by using Artificial Intelligence.
If we compare the human lifestyle before and after the introduction of social media, we will see some major issues the young generation is facing. Boomers and Millennials were raised by doing more outdoor activities, whereas Gen Z are encouraged to stay indoor infront of their devices. I think it is also a neglect of parents for their convenience; they expose the kids to the internet when they are completely unaware of the danger that can happen online.
There are a lot of scams, vulgar activities that happen in social media which can affect a child’s psychological condition. I have seen my younger sister playing YouTube Shorts where they show nudity, change graphics constantly to get kids hooked, which indirectly affects their mental health. They will slowly begin to have issues like depression, anxiety, low confidence and many more.
So, to solve this problems we can do few simple things such as setting the device in kids mode, encouraging them to participate in outdoor activities to keep our future generation mentally and physically healthy.
