If we look at screen time statistics, the average is 6.5-7 hours a day, which is almost 40% of our waking hours. Moreover, elderly people are often targeted by online scammers due to a lack of digital awareness. As a result, most of them lose money or personal data through fake websites and messages.
On the other hand, there are many situations in which relatives and close friends live far apart due to work, study, or other life factors. In such cases, easier communication is one of the main advantages of developing IT. Consequently, messengers and social media provide an effective solution, allowing people to stay in touch with each other instantly and maintain close relationships despite the distance. In addition, video calls and online messaging help people share important moments in real time, which makes long-distance relationships much easier to manage.
In conclusion, I believe that the advantages of information technology outweigh its disadvantages. It has improved communication, access to information, and daily life efficiency. Therefore, its overall impact on society is positive.
