In today’s world, many people are not able to find time for themselves. This can have severe affects over both the individual and society. This essay covers the possible reasons of this trend and how it affects.
Today, everyone has smartphone. Whenever people gets a free time, they usually pick their phones and start scrolling social media apps mostly facebook or instagram. These apps have such an engaging content that the user is not able track how much time he has spent over it. Often, people while opening these apps, plan to use them for a few minutes, but end up scrolling newsfeed for hours. This leads to mental exhaustion and thus, they don’t find time later to spent on their hobbies. This often leads to burnout and social exhaustion which effect their personal and social life. Sharing my personal experience, last time I opened my facebook app just to check for notifications. However, I closed my application after an hour as I was doing mindless scrolling. I couldnt have had time further to spend with my parents and got drained out.
Secondly, some people work in a very demanding profession in which they have to spend ten to twelve hours onsite on duty. Hence they are not able to take any time out for themselves. For example, doctors often do not have enough time to persue their hobbies. Their job is very demanding and challenging on duty in the hospital. Although they are paid very lucrative package, but their job demands lot of time.
To conclude, I think it is important for every individual, regardless of how busy they are in their daily routine, to take out some time in a day for their hobbies. Doing so, they won’t get mentally exhausted.
