Individuals’ behaviors towards society are being changed regularly, and many people feel that greediness and selfishness are the pillar of this behavior in the 21st century. They assert that traditional ethics are appropriate, where one gives respect to elders and prefers to contribute for the betterment of the local community. I contend with this view and agree to adopt them for an optimal lifestyle.
During previous centuries, people always prioritized to aid others. To elaborate, elders always did charity work for poor people in the community. Also, their own numerous heroes to help a local community to survive. A notable example is Ratan Tata, who was a manager of world’s largest company Tata, spent half of his earnings in building schools and hospitals for those middle-class people who cannot afford them. However, modernization has influenced wealthy people badly that they do not support others financially because of their greediness for money. Therefore, traditional values are crucial and need to appear again in the present era.
Apart from this, youngsters do not respect to elders, instead of that they make a fun of aged people. To exemplify, nuclear family scenario is increased rapidly nowadays, where adults prefer to live separately because of having a different lifestyle with ego in their modernization. Consequently, this would lead to chaos in between them. This way, the younger generation do not value their ancestors and become disrespectful to aged community. Whereas, if people follow traditional manners, such as living in a joint family, they would create an unbreakable bond between generations with selfless love. Eventually, adults stay respectful to old community.
To conclude, it can be observed that people do not think about others and become disrespectful to elders due to their greediness and selfishness, which can be diminished by adopting traditional values to give respect and help to others.
