I completely agree with this idea that the school should include subjects such as arts, music, drama, and creative writing for their students, and also provide little more time for these subject to be taught so, children can move towards overall development. Although core subjects like maths and science are also significant, arts, music, drama and creative writing equally helpfull for child’s overall development because it assist them to develop critical thinking and make them mentally and physically active.
To begin with, one of the main reasons why I agree is that it enhance children’s critical thinking. This is because all of the mention subjects require creativity to learn it effectively. For creative writing students should think about the topic through their imagination or link it with real world. For example, school should provide one topic related to modify existing devices with the help of ancient methods. As a result, from the ground basis children are able to think in a creative way, which facilitate them to perform better in the future.
Moreover, another significant reason is that they are become more active in terms of physically and mentally. In other words, arts and music can be learned only when they are practising it with full concentration without getting bored. Sometime, musical intruments are hard to play, which trigger physical difficulties. For instance, students can be mentally active when they are learning colour theory, by which they can form various colour shades. Thus, school can raise their students with all round developments.
In conclusion, though core subject are more important, from my perspective, arts, music, drama, and creative writing play equal role for the children’s overall development by improving their critical thinking, and making them physically and mentally active.
