Artificial intelligence (AI) tools are becoming more common in education in many countries. These tools help students complete their assignments more faster and efficiently. While some people believe that AI can increase in-deep understanding, others argue that it will reduce students’ intellectual development. This essay will discuss both views before giving my opinion.
AI can improve students’ learning in several ways like it provides quick information and explanations, so students can understand difficult questions more easily without spending to much time to searching for the answers. In addition, AI tools can give step-by-step explanations for math and physical problems or to sum up theories in social subjects. As a result, AI can support students learning specialized knowledge more efficiently and rapidly and helps them save more time for deeper understanding.
On the other hand, AI tools can reduce students independent thinking and limit creativity. This is because students can get the data and answers easier from AI easier, so if students copy the AI contents they may not evaluate whether the information is correct or relevant. Moreover, AI is a useful educational tool but it should not replace students own thinking and they need to use it wisely, and teachers should guild them to ensure balanced use. As a result, using AI to much can reduce students ability to analyze and think critically may weaken.
In conclusion, although AI can enhance learning efficiency and easy, it may also reduce independent thinking if overused. Therefore, in my opinion a balanced approach is the best way.
