In today’s world, competition can be seen in every field of life. Many argue that rivalry is necessary at workplaces, schools, and in everyday life, while others prefer collaboration rather than competition. In my opinion, although cooperation can lead to better mental well-being, healthy competition is vital to prepare individuals for the real world and acheive what they deserve.
Supporters of a cooperative environment believe that collaboration can foster a supportive environment. This means that when individuals are not looking forward to being better than others, they feel comfortable which reduces their anxiety and tension. This can lead to increased mental well-being in the long run. Moreover, pooling complementary skills empowers individuals to solve complex problems faster. As a result, they gain better outcomes, which make them feel proud of themselves.
On the other hand, the opponents of cooperation argue that competition can be a powerful motivator. This leads people to push past their limits to acheive their dreams by working harder than others. For instance, when a company or a school introduces a reward for the best outcome of a project, every body strives to be the best version of themselves and perform better than their colleagues or classmates. Consequently, it can be seen how rivarly is a strong tool to guide people. In addition, competetive environments play a key role in individuals’ future lives by preparing them for the realities of the real world. To illustrate, competing for new job positions to have a better salary is very common in a workplace, so it is beneficial for everyone to be aware of such situations and ready to compete.
In conclusion, cooperation is a key to have a very relaxed mind because there is no need to fight for being better than others and everybody fights for a shared goal. However, a rivalrous environment is essential to motivate individuals to perform well and be prepared for the reality of the world. From my prespective, everyone needs to be involved in a healthy rivalry to develop their skills.
