In today’s world, it can be quite challenging to excel in any area of life. Parents can play a significant role in helping their children achieve their goals, but they often exert too much pressure in their attempts to provide assistance. In my opinion, this approach is not very beneficial, and I will outline the reasons why in this essay.
Firstly, setting unrealistic expectations for a child can lead to various psychological issues. This is not surprising; if a child performs slightly worse than anticipated, they may begin to see themselves as unworthy of success. For example, many students experience similar mental health challenges due to this kind of development.
Secondly, children raised under excessive pressure often struggle with their parents as they grow older. This dynamic can potentially lead to a complete breakdown of communication between them. For instance, emotionally unstable teenagers may run away from home when faced with overwhelming stress.
Thirdly, this type of upbringing can instill a fear of failure. In some cases, parents may punish their children for failing to meet certain goals, which can result in long-term consequences. Humanity has always learned from its failures, but if a person is paralyzed by the fear of making mistakes, they will struggle to grow.
In summary, being under significant pressure is detrimental not only to parents but also to children. I believe it is crucial to teach kids that failure is a normal part of life.
