Today, many people argue about what influences children the most. Some think it is media, popular culture and friends. Others think it is family. I will discuss both sides and give my own opinion
First, media and friends have a big impact on children. Kids spend many hours every day on their phones watching videos and talking to friends. They copy what they see online. If a popular blogger wears something, children want the same thing. Friends also pressure each other to act and speak in certain ways. Many young people want to fit in, so they follow what is popular. This is why a lot of people think that media and friends are the biggest influence on children today
However, family is also very important. Parents are the first people a child sees in life. They teach children what is good and what is bad from a very early age. For example, if parents are kind and honest, children usually grow up the same way. Family also gives children a feeling of safety and support. When a child has problems, they usually go to their parents first. These values and habits that children learn at home stay with them for their whole life
In my opinion, family is more important than media or friends. Media changes every day, but the values that parents teach stay forever. A child who grows up in a loving and caring family is much less affected by bad influences from the internet or friends
In conclusion, both media and family influence children. But I believe family has the strongest and longest impact on who a child becomes
