Every human being deserves an opportunity to correct themselves, thus, I agree on the concept of creating better alternatives for those whose crimes are minor rather than sending them to prison like all lawbreakers.

There should be some considerations like- gravity of the crime, the criminals age, gender and minority status. In addition, the most important matter that needs to be taken under consideration is that, what actually make that individual to conduct such crimes. If the proper reasoniong can be identified, we can take the corrective measures as well so that that individual does not committ such crime again. For instance, in developing countries like Bangladesh, there are so many young aged males (Below 18 years old) are found to involve themselves with different crimes like pickpocketing and we know “Poverty” is the main cause behind of such crimes. So, if from society, we can support them to earn by doing jobs/businesses, surely most of these criminals will continue to do good jobs rather than occuring crimes. In addition, if there is anyone found drug addicted, rather than sending them to prison again and again, we can send them to rehabilitation centers for their proper treatment. This is why I am suggesting here to give the criminals opportunities which can be corrected with proper follow up.

However, there might be worst case scenario as well. Some people might not get corrected after several attempts because this another human created mental disorder which they will continue to do. For them, it’s better to imprisoned them like others., but before that we must at least give a try.

At the very end, it can be said that, crime is always crime whether it is small one or big one and if it is not taken under considerations, the small crimes will start to grow as a big one day-by-day. Proper legislations, security force agencies active participation to maintain strict regulations and driving the morlities among people will help to eradicate crime from society rather sending evryone to jail for occuring crimes.
