Young People are pressurised by their parents to score higher to compete with other students and secure a good job in future. Some people suggest to remove the physical education to give children more time to focus on a few subjects but I disagree with this opinion. This is because that physical education part of the non-academic subjects, is very important for children and should not be removed merely for the reason to score higher in other subjects. Rather, parents need to teach their children, the skills to manage time and be productive.
Physical education plays a significant role in nurturing the young minds and bodies. And a healthy body is the guarantee to a healthy mind. If children would do more physical activities at school, they will be much more active, and fit not only through out the day but in long-term as well. The research at Harvard medical school has shown that in majority of cases, those children who do helathy activities score higher than those who do not. And there are more such studies which has shown the effect of physical activities on improving the memory in children. Thus, physical education should not be comprmised in great interest of our children.
The pressure from the parents on children to succeed academically is baseless and vague. Because children are having less expertise at managing time and being productive, so they should be guided rather than being ridiculed for not scoring well. For instance, if a student scores less than his close friend, the parents need to ask him/her what problems he/she is facing and then mentor him/her on how tackle those problems. This is the only solution because the problems are not going to go away, parents have to help their children to develop their skills to face those problems and solve them.
In conclusion, at least the physical education subject should not be removed as it has shown great benefits for children in terms of physical fitness and enhancing intelligence. And to tackel with the grades issue, the parents need to help their children develop skills to be more productive and good at time management.
