Many young people are strongly influenced by celebrities and often see them as role models. While this can sometimes encourage ambition and hard work, I believe it is mostly a negative development because fame does not always show good moral values or responsible behaviour.
To be fair, some public figures can have a positive effect on young people. Successful athletes, business people, and artists often show determination, strength, and dedication. Their success can inspire young people to work hard, face difficulties, and follow their own dreams. Also, some celebrities support charity work, environmental protection, or mental health campaigns, which can encourage their fans to be more responsible.
However, the negative effects of celebrity influence are greater than these benefits. In today’s digital world, many celebrities become popular because of scandals or carefully planned social media posts rather than real talent or honesty. As a result, young people may start to care too much about money, looks, and online fame instead of education, self-improvement, and real relationships. This can create unrealistic ideas about success and lead to stress, low confidence, and unhappiness. In addition, when celebrities behave badly, such as using drugs, acting carelessly, or causing public scandals, some young people may copy them without understanding the risks.
In my opinion, young people should be encouraged to admire people whose success is based on knowledge, honesty, and helping others, such as teachers, scientists, or community leaders. These role models give better examples of success and are more likely to teach qualities that help both the individual and society.
In conclusion, although some celebrities can motivate young people to reach their goals and do good things, I believe the overall influence of celebrity culture is negative. If young people choose role models based on character instead of fame, it would be better for both them and society.
