Advantage And Disadvantage

Band 6+: Young people are leaving their homes from rural areas to study or work in the cities. Do the advantages of this development outweigh its disadvantages?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In this day and age, moving to urban areas to study and work has become increasingly widespread in society. This essay will examine the reasons behind this trend, and I believe that despite some drawbacks, the benefits of rural-urban migration significantly outweigh its disadvantages.

There are several reasons why young individuals move to bigger cities. The first reason is that they can have better education quality. In metropolitan areas, prestigious universities offer diverse academic programs and modern facilities, enabling students to access specialized knowledge and gain hands-on experience with advanced equipment, which significantly enhances their future career prospects. Another reason is that the job market in urban areas is more accessible. Under the influence of industrialization, most factories and companies are located in big cities due to their geographic advantages. As a result, young people can seek numerous opportunities in career paths, and earn more competitive salaries.

However, this migrant tendency also poses significant threats. Firstly, this can lead to a lack of education from parents. Without parental guidance, young people may struggle to make sound decisions about their lifestyle choices and peer relationships, potentially leading them to engage in risky behaviors or fall victim to negative influences. Another, teenagers can suffer from financial burden when moving to bigger cities. In many metropolitan areas like Ho Chi Minh City, the real estate is much higher than other areas, which can lead to a high cost of living. As a result, receiving a higher salary, teenagers still have to deal with financial burden.

In conclusion, while young people face challenges such as lack of parental guidance and financial pressures when moving to cities, the superior educational opportunities and career prospects make this rural-urban migration ultimately beneficial for their future.
