With social advancement, the debate on how young people should allocate their time to broaden their skills and knowledge has become a significant concern. While many argue that young people should prioritize cultural activities like music and theater over sports, I partially agree with this statement as both kinds of activities play significant roles in the young individual’s life.
On the one hand, participating in cultural activities can positively impact a country’s development by raising the young awareness. The younger generation is increasingly ignorant of historical and cultural knowledge, thereby limiting their understanding of their country’s cultural identity. Cultural activities serve as essential resources to encourage them to gain access to these ones. For instance, the film “Song of the South” depicts the wartime context of Vietnam in the 1900s, provides a deep analysis that enables young adults to comprehend the historical events and emphasizes the significance of regaining and conserving independence but also liberty.
On the other hand, engaging in sports is crucial for maintaining the physical health of young people. Doing sports could give young adults chances to exercise, which is important for health problems. There is abundant evidence demonstrating that sedentary lifestyles and lack of exercise contribute to others’ sickness conditions. The case of my teacher as a primary example; Ms. Hoa is a passionate languages enthusiast who spends most of his leisure time exploring books of langues. While she derives immense joy and intellectual stimulation from these activities, he often finds herself leading a sedentary lifestyle. Over the years, this has taken a toll on her health, leading to decreased health. Hoa’s situation serves as a poignant reminder that even the most culturally fulfilling pursuits should be complemented by physical activities to ensure a holistic approach to well-being
In conclusion, while cultural activities can indeed broaden the knowledge of young people, it is important to recognize the importance of physical well-being. Therefore, the most intelligent balanced approach that incorporates both cultural activities and sports in terms of the comprehensive development of young individuals.
