Although opponents of robots argue that they pose a danger to us as they threaten the jobs of millions of individuals, I tend to side with those who believe that they are crucial to our future progress, given their outstanding ability to perform complex operations precisely without being affected by exhaustion or emotions.
On the one hand, some people think that robots negatively affect societies because they are constantly replacing human workforce. This is evident in many companies who started replacing manual laborers with robots owing to the latter’s superior capabilities at lower costs. However, this is not completely true because, while they replace humans in some jobs, they open up career opportunities in other fields, such as computer science, engineering, and artificial intelligence. For instance, while factories require fewer workers on the production line today than they did several years ago, they now employ numerous engineers and technicians in all departments.
On the other hand, advocates of robots allege that they are pivotal in human progress because robots display higher accuracy and reliability than humans. Furthermore, they are not affected by human shortcomings such as exhaustion, hunger, and emotions. I believe this stance to be true due to a very prominent example in the medical field, where robots have started doing surgeries, and are demonstrating remarkable precision and durability.
In summary, while robots may replace some jobs, they are opening up new career paths for humans, where they can excel more. Moreover, they demonstrate exceptional abilities and endurance, making them ideal for operations that require perfect precision for a long time.
